1 pound of Pasta, I like to use Rigatoni or Penne.
300 gm of mozzarella cut into pieces
100 gm of parmesan cheese
Bolognese Tomato sauce (See our Sauce section) (Can be with Meat or without) Our sauce is made from scratch with basic ingredients and slow cooked for hours always best results.
Prepare and cook your pasta – Check (How to Cook Pasta Perfectly) though for this dish I don’t cook the past al dente I only cook it for about 7 minutes or so depending on what pasta you use, but usually take off 5 minutes off their recommended, this is so the pasta is not to soggy once backed
Put the semi cooked Pasta al Forno together and bake.
Put a layer of pasta with sauce on the bottom of an oven dish.
Make another layer with thick pieces of mozzarella and sprinkle parmesan cheese
Add another layer of pasta with meat sauce (or plain sauce if you want vegetarian) and again some mozzarella and parmesan, finish with a layer of pasta.
Sprinkle with last of parmesan on top and bake in a pre-heated oven 180-200° until the top layer starts to crisp (30-40 mins)
