Plan your visit in terms of neighborhoods rather than specific sites, through the charming residential streets example Notting Hill as London is huge, with so many options it can be hard for a first time visit to know where to start. Some highlights. Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, stroll the south bank, a night in Soho. So many museums, The British Museum or South Kensington Museum or maybe build a day around ever-trendy East London for shopping.
For contrast, pop over to Mayfair for a turn through one of London’s most exclusive neighborhoods and of course Buckingham Palace a must to watch the Changing the Guard, the age-old ritual of iconic bearskin-hatted regiments swapping shifts outside Buckingham Palace.
And last but not least, my favorite thing to do everyday in London, the quintessentially English indulgence. Afternoon Tea, so where to go, everywhere, with so many options it’s hard to choose, but my favorites. The Ritz is number one, if beautiful weather head to the terrace at the Goring or the, Savory or stately Orangery.
You might not be surprised, I wasn’t, but according to the UK Tea & Infusions Association. Britons drink 165 million cups of tea each day. Wow now that’s a lot of tea.
