I have always loved Florence, it’s an amazing city always full of life with wonderful people enjoying the dolce vita lifestyle and enjoying great food and excellent wines from Tuscany life is not difficult at all! I would skip places that are often recommended in the guide books, just walk down any street in Florence and select a trattoria, enoteca or restaurant in Florence that seems appealing and you’ll surely eat a great meal!. And don’t get me started on the gelaterias? There are so many, trying them out is the fun part, I so enjoy!.
It was during the Italian Renaissance Florence when it acquired its renaissance palaces and squares, turning it into a living museum. The Italian Renaissance, Europe’s richest cultural period, began in Florence when the artist Brunelleschi finished the Duomo, with the huge dome. Florence gives you a trailer of Italy through its stupendous art, tremendous history, magical surroundings with hills and valleys and the river. The Boboli Gardens offer excellent paths on the slopes of the hills.
Besides the profusion of art, Florence is symptomatic of life in Italy with its outdoor cafes, the cathedral’s dome, the Arno River, the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, goldsmiths, monuments and world class museums. The Arno River is turning into a sought after place as both banks boast casual dining places and roof top bars to allow people to enjoy the magnificent views of the river and the city nearby.
Florence is the home of hundreds of artisans perfecting their art in textiles, silk, silver and leather from centuries. Florence is the city of senses and five senses are not enough to feel the city.
