If you’re visiting London I would suggest adding a few extra days and get out of town. Once you’ve had your share of the London bustle, do yourself a favor take a trip a bit further afield and spend a quiet weekend in the countryside. It’s well worth it, it’s beautiful. I have friends that live in Henley on Thames where the famous Regatta is held and every time I visit London I tag on a few extra days, it’s just such lovely country side. Photo’s are also of quaint town of Harleyford, Marlow and Hambleden all a short 50 minutes to an hour outside of London.
You will thank me. There is nothing quite like exploring the English countryside for its amazing rural escapes, which are alluring with dramatic dales, patchwork hills, winding country roads and ancient woodlands.
These English countryside destinations are for all seasons whether you are going for a stroll beside lovely rivers in the summer, or to explore the daffodil valleys during the spring, and maybe, have fun in the lovely bluebell-drenched woodlands in May or travel back in time to see the ancient stone circles in Lake District.
And don’t forget to eat the popular local dish of Fish and Chips it’s SO good and it seems to taste better in the English Countryside.
