Belmond Villa San Michele Hotel

This beautiful hotel only twenty minutes outside of Florence nestled in the hills of Fiesole. Has been meticulously restored from a 15th century monastery with a facade attributed to Michelangelo. Renaissance facade displaying elegant arches and ornamental accents and all surrounded by lush woodland and terraced gardens and astounding views of Florence.

The Renaissance is evident in every detail of this exquisite picture perfect hotel. Throughout the property, and especially in the monastery, original features have been restored and paired with period pieces. In the lobby, elegant vaulted ceilings and candelabra-style chandeliers couple with dark-wood furniture and classic framed art.

 
It has classically elegant rooms. The hotel terraced gardens include an outdoor heated pool with a bar serving drinks and snacks, pergola-covered walkways, beautiful lush swaths of lawn with lounge chairs and tables, but I was disappointed they don’t have a spa, which I think would fit perfectly is this retreat type of environment.
