I was proud to be invited and be present last year at this wonderful event, organized by a friend of a friend Paul Sladkus who is CEO of Good News Broadcast Co.
Every year on the International Day of Peace, Paul hosts the Peace Day Party in the northern triangle of Time Square where people representing a myriad of cultures and traditions come together in the heart of New York City. Along the front of the stage, international Flags representing all the 193 United Nations Member States was decorated. The same flags have been all over the globe including the DMZ at the border of North and South Korea. Colorful messages of peace and a large banner with the words “May Peace Prevail on Earth” was visible on stage including a Peace Pole. “May Peace Prevail On Earth” on every Peace Pole is such an important phrase held in the hearts of every peace activist, thousands of school children, politicians, members of the military and are the words found on every Peace Pole across our planet.
PEACE rang loud and clear through the skyscraper canyons of New York City to be carried in the hearts and minds of those in attendance on this great day and hope well into the future, a future where we all must work hard so the message of “May Peace Prevail on Earth” rings into every corner of our world and the world of all those who follow in our footsteps.
The Peace Day Party was a three hour celebration with speakers from not-for-profit organizations, singers, dancers, musicians, a fashion show and the event even created “the biggest human peace sign” which I also stood proud in that wonderful Peace sign. I still have hopes we can all one day live in peace and never see another war again.
